members work individually and as a group with engineering and architectural students and universities to support steel programs, and to give students hands-on experiences working with steel. OSA also supports a scholarship program through the American Institute of Steel Construction (A.I.S.C).

Active members of OSA include structural steel and miscellaneous metal fabricators, specialty suppliers and ferrous and non-ferrous fabricators of ornamental and miscellaneous metals doing business in the state of Ohio. Associate members include steel warehouse suppliers, steel erectors and manufacturers of equipment or machinery used in the steel fabrication process.
