OSA SUPPORTS NATIONWIDE A.I.S.C. STEELDAY 2009

The Ohio Structural Steel & Architectural Metals Association (OSA) teamed up with OSA Associate member firm V&S Columbus Galvanizing and the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) for SteelDay 2009. Columbus Galvanizing offered a tour of their facility for this special event on September 18 from 10:00am – 3:00pm.

A primary goal for SteelDay 2009 was to provide the AEC community with the latest happenings in the structural steel industry. (Learn more at www.steelday.org) OSA members took part in this cause for celebration by hosting tabletop exhibits related to structural steel innovation at the Columbus Galvanizing Open House. Members manned the displays in conjunction with OSAs’suarterly membership meeting held at the Pinnacle Golf Club in Grove City, Ohio.

SteelDay 2009 was the first planned annual national event dedicated to providing the AEC community with accessibility to the latest happenings in the structural steel industry. SteelDay events were held at steel fabricators, mills, service centers, galvanizers and other facilities across the United States. The AEC community toured facilities and jobsites, attended educational seminars, networked, and learned how the structural steel industry is contributing to build America. Continuing education credits were available and all events were free of charge.

Overall, the event was a great success, and OSA looks forward to offering its support for SteelDay 2010.
